Allan
Koyanagi: Operations Manager |
 |
In high school, Allan Koyanagi was voted the most likely not to succeed in sports. He reached his athletic potential by the Grade 9. It’s been downhill ever since. He was a terrible athlete. However, his love for sports led him to study Sport Administration at Durham College and pursue a career in the organization of sports, primarily in the area of Ticket Sales.
"He has put a lot of bums in seats"
Allan enjoyed a 10-year career with the Toronto Blue Jays (1984-1994) as a Ticket Manager. While with the Blue Jays, the organization established 9 Major League Baseball attendance records, moved from Exhibition Stadium to the Skydome, hosted the All Star Game (1991) and won two consecutive World Series Championships (1992-1993).
In his 27 year career, Allan has also served a wide range of organizations: 1996 Summer Olympic Games (Atlanta), 1999 Pan American Games (Winnipeg), 2001 World Figure Skating Championships (Vancouver), 2006 TFCN Asian Games (Doha, Qatar) and the 2007 FIFA U20 World Cup (Toronto). Each of these events established new attendance records and achieved new milestones in excellence while Koyanagi was part of their management teams.
In addition to his event history, Allan has also served on three Olympic Bid Committees and as a member of the Canadian Olympic Committee Staff at the 2002 (Salt Lake City), 2006 (Torino) Olympic Winter Games, and was recently named to the staff for the 2008 (Beijing) Olympic Summer Games.
He is currently living in Cambridge, Canada and serves as the Operations Manager at the Cambridge Kips Gymnastics club. Since Allan has worked in so many different places, and cultures he has learned to practice safe stress, enjoys running and fitness classes at the YMCA. Allan is still a terrible athlete.

She says her love of children was one of the primary reasons she chose to become a coach. Elvira also coached renowned Soviet athletes Tatiana Groshkova.
