For three years in a row now, the Cambridge Kips Gymnastics Club has received the coveted Gymnastics Canada-Gymnastique Club of Excellence Award.
This distinction is only awarded to 10 clubs in the country and is difficult to achieve as a club must meet strict standards and reach a range of goals set by the national gymnastics organizations.
Criteria to be eligible for the award includes:
- the number of carded athletes a club produces
- club participates and funds athletes and coaches at international competitions
- coaches act as clinicians for Gymnastics Canada-Gymnastique
Vanda Martins-Gardiner, President of the Kips Board of Directors, was elated the club received the award yet again.
"This award recognizes the hard work of both our gymnasts and our dedicated coaches who train our high-performance athletes. It is designed to recognize coaches and athletes who, within the Canadian system, have reached excellence at the international level.
"The Cambridge Kips takes great pride in all the opportunities we provide for all of our athletes, from our developmental recreational programs which have well over 1,000 participants, to our rhythmic and artistic programs which produce outstanding provincial and national athletes."
